Our family
Our family is extremely important to both of us. but, for us, family is not made up of just blood relations. there are numerous people in our lives who have loved us, helped us, and are certainly whom we would consider to be valuable and treasured members of our family.
We are truly blessed to have these individuals in our lives to accompany those who we grew up with as our blood relatives.
Tim was born and raised here in kansas city, mO. his extended family is mainly from the Sedalia, Mo area and he remembers almost weekly weekend visits to sedalia to visit with aunts, uncles, and cousins. these formative memories created a loving appreciation for the value of family units who support and depend upon each other through all times. His mother is deceased from ovarian cancer (2004) and his father is still living his best life. He has two siblings - a sister whose family lives in the Excelsior springs area and a brother whose family resides in oklahoma. he has three nieces and one nephew. two nieces are married; one with three children.
Paul was born in St. Paul, Mn and moved with his family to Olathe, KS when he was in third grade. his family has since laid roots in the olathe area. his extended family covers the country and he fondly remembers traveling to virginia to visit his paternal grandparents every summer. these visits were essential in helping paul develop his appreciation and understanding of the importance of quality time spent with those you love (especially while you still can - both of these grandparents have passed recently). His parents remain in Olathe and he has two sisters, both married - one who lives in the blue springs area, and the other resides in california.
once tim and paul became a couple, their families blended and each found acceptance and a place within the other's familial units. as they began to develop their lives as a couple, their family began to grow from not only blood relations but also to include these friend circles (both new and old) that each brought to the relationship. As time has passed, they have fully developed a support system of these friends and family all over the country.
